For your information Romania is a southeastern European country known for the beautiful forested region of Transylvania, ringed by the Carpathian Mountains. Its preserved medieval towns include Sighisoara, and there are many fortified churches and castles, notably clifftop Bran Castle, long associated with the Dracula legend. Bucharest, the country’s capital, is the site of the gigantic, Communist-era Palatal Parlamentului government building.
A lot of people will characterize Romania as poor and corrupt. There is poverty and corruption in any country. But Romania is actually in the top 30% richest countries in the world. So on a global scale, it is not that poor as people thinking about it.
Also, in terms of justice, it ranks 29 in the world as most just. So again, not that corrupt.
When compared to other countries in Europe, which have built their riches on the back of slaves and imperialism, yes it is poorer.
But to me what best describes Romania, in no particular order, are the following:
breath-taking, diverse natural beauty
rich history, language (only Romance language in Eastern Europe), culture (see poetry, traditional dance and song) and architecture (see castles and palaces)
amazingly delicious food (must try before you die. There is something for both carnivores and vegans to enjoy)
hospitality
peace
sense of humor
Many people tend to stereotype in a way, and keep judging not only Romania, but Bulgaria too - saying that they’re small countries with very badly functioning governments, that they are poor countries, that cities and towns all around are dirty and that their citizens are disrespectful and have low education levels. Let me tell you, most of these are not true - it is true that Romania is going through a politically difficult time at the moment, but we are managing just fine and enjoying our lives here.
First of all, Romania is no dirtier than other countries, and our population is very civilized despite what others may believe or say. Don’t come here with the impression that you will see homeless drug addicts all over the city and will have to run away and hide your bag - as a matter of fact, in 2018 I’ve travelled to Paris and seen twice as many such people on the streets, although everyone says Paris is so wealthy and fancy. Life here is really good - of course, sometimes people get robbed or killed and the traffic is pretty crazy so car accidents happen quite frequently, but we are no worse than other countries.

Second of all, our country is very peaceful. You will never have to worry about bombs and terrorist attacks - you can go out and walk freely whenever you want to, nobody will be behind the corner ready to bomb the city. We are doing well here, everyone is safe.
Third of all, many things around capital of Bucharest are very effective. It has a lot of very nice restaurants with very good quality food, most of our hotels are big, clean and fancy, and we have one of the fastest internet connections in the world, if not the fastest.
Fourth of all, most rents are not expensive. Of course, buying an apartment/villa or whatever will cost a lot, just like in any country, but rents are quite cheap - I pay my maid 630 euro a month, and she lives in a studio apartment with her husband that costs only 200 euro a month - they manage just fine. It really depends on the area that you choose to live in - in Pipera, which is a small town right next to Bucharest, mostly very wealthy people live, so rents there cost quite a lot .However, as I was saying, rents are cheap.
Last of all, live here is simply fun! You get to go out to a bunch of really beautiful places at day and night, and sightseeing in the capital is just so wonderful. If you come here, have fun, really - it’s gonna be great!
Apart from dysfunctional government and many politicians going to jail, life here is awesome.
